Sr. Account Manager-Oakland County, MI
This role focuses on managing the accounts on short and medium term, managing both internal and external international contacts/networks related to existing segments.
In this position you will:
Define and execute the sales/account plans, derived from the various product line strategies and the segment sales plan, and realize the yearly sales and account objectives.
Execute negotiations around pricing, delivery etc. within the boundaries set by Product Management/SSM, and responsible for quotations handling, contracts and accountable for credit limits.
Define, develop and commercialize new projects (customers/applications) within the segment/ application strategy, the ambition of the product line and focal points within segment and application.
Leverage and coordinate AD/BDM efforts for his/her projects and leverage and coordinate AD/SM/BDM/ R&T efforts at Account level. Additionally, responsible for the coordination of all DEP internal activities concerning the account to ensure a consistent account approach in sales, support and development.
Position new value propositions at his/her target accounts for Commercial development and for communicating value propositions to the market.
Initiate development agreements with customers in the case the DEP investment is valued <10 k otherwise responsible to communicate business case to the PM for approval.
Develop and maintain networks at adequate levels in the value chain and within account’s organizations focusing on engineering and technology and sales.
Communicate with the customer and product manager the commercial request/availability dates and needs with regards to new product development.
Collect market information and communicate current and emerging needs for current and new accounts within the segment and region to drive value propositions development.
Responsible for sales forecasting as input for the Demand Plan.
Prepare and settle rebates after approval of the Business
What we want to see in you:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience in mechanical/technology/chemical engineering and/or a business-related field required
Minimum 5 years of experience in sales and/or business development in the automotive industry required
Knowledge of sales processes and Knowledge of business & process within this market segment required
Knowledge of industry and markets, in-depth knowledge of products and/or applications and competitive material specifications and applications required
Skills, experience and training in product management and finance; and additional background in sales, technical service, and application development.
Excellent communication, language and social skills
Analytical, with good judgment, business sense and problem solving skills
A strong negotiator who is able to identify customers’ needs and persuasive in presenting ideas
