Candidates must have a strong technical understanding of automotive body, chassis and suspension systems with the ability to:
Lead product design & development of new products and improve upon existing products
Coordinate on-site and off-site design reviews, CAD and FEA activities to meet customer performance requirements
Perform DFM&A reviews with manufacturing personnel to ensure operational input
Fulfill product design APQP requirements and participate in plant-held APQP reviews
Participate in Customer meetings and respond to Customer inquiries
Provide technical expertise in support of field failure analysis and develop and implement corrective actions
Requirements for this position include solid experience in design of Suspension Crossmembers & Assemblies, Suspension Links and Arms, Hitches, Bumpers, Body-in-White and Closures Experience, a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering and 10+ years related experience in automotive design and manufacturing.
The Sr. Project Engineer will be responsible to meet with Customers one-on-one, identify open issues and track them to closure while communicating activities to the U.S. Engineering Headquarter and Sales department.
