Job Description: 

Job Purpose:
Conduct research, analysis and experimentation to formulate Materials used in final assembly of automobiles.

Duties:
Formulate product to customer specifications, Determine manufacturing process standards and direct scale-up activities.
Confer with customers' material engineers, sales and purchasing department management and internal development staff when required to ensure accurate specification parameters
* Identify chemical and physical properties of raw materials and finished product by conducting analysis such as chromatography, spectroscopy, and other analytical methods.
Research new products and processes by conducting experiments involving the composition, structure, properties, relationships, and reactions of matter induced by heat, light, energy, and chemical catalysts. Prepare technical reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
Maintain organization's stability and reputation by complying with government regulations.
Maintain project and product database; entering and backing up data.

Skills/Qualifications:
Minimum of five years experience in the development of direct glazing materials, Lab Testing, Chemistry Techniques, Reporting Research Results, Research Skills, Basic Safety, Database Design, Equipment Maintenance, Attention to Detail, Quality Focus, Technical Zeal

Requirements;
5 - 15 years compounding, developing Elastomers (adhesives, rubber, metal bonding or epoxy- rubber to metal bonding) or Water-based Coatings (Noise, Vibration, NVH analysis, Acrylic dispersions, Robotic Application, Vibration damping coatings).
Automotive Tier I Supplier Experience
BS in Chemistry /Chemical Engineering or equivalent
Advanced Degree preferred
Minimum of 5 years experience in development and product launch
Minimum of 3 years supervision of technical employees
Strong project management and Microsoft Office skills
Strongly prefer candidates currently located in the Metro Detroit Mi area
