This position is located in Michigan.

This position is responsible for a Department's Project and Resource Management activities and strategies, including those related to risk management, change management, issue management and establishment of related company procedures. This involves ensuring effective cross-functional project and resource management processes, with a primary goal of developing and delivering innovative, high-quality products and process and project improvement projects on schedule. All activities are the result of multiple inputs from various sections (Product Development, Operations, Marketing, etc.).

  1. Maintain and follow proper compliance and quality systems requirements.
  2. Support a team to define, implement, and maintain department-wide project and resource management tools allowing for effective and efficient project and resource management activities.
  3. Provide project and resource management performance reports in accordance with any applicable communication plan in order to support executive decision making.
  4. Measure performance and progress of all projects in the portfolio using appropriate tools and techniques. Identify and quantify any variances, perform any required corrective actions, and communicate to all stakeholders.
  5. Monitor resource demand using appropriate and available tools. Recommend and facilitate the sharing of resources among their constituent projects to the overall benefit of the organization.
  6. Facilitate stakeholder management by communicating all relevant information including decisions and prioritizations to the stakeholders including directors and executive management in order to ensure organizational alignment.
  7. Report on Key Performance Indicators and evaluate for appropriate action.
  8. Create and maintain project templates including resource estimates to accurately capture and forecast resource requirements and project delivery dates.
  9. Maintain accurate resource capacity/availability and related information using appropriate and available tools.
  10. Develop plans using goals and objectives of the program, applicable historical information, and other available resources in order to align program with expectations of sponsors and stakeholders.
  11. Execute project plans (quality, risk, communication, staffing, etc.) by using the appropriate tools and by auditing the results of their use in order to align the project outcomes with stakeholder expectations and standards.
  12. Capture project and resource status and data by ensuring the population of the project management information system in order to maintain accurate and current project and resource information for the use of stakeholders.
  13. Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, project resources, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques in order to keep the project plan accurate, updated, reflective of authorized project changes as defined in the change management plan, and facilitate customer acceptance.
Requires a four-year college degree in business or engineering coupled with 5 years experience in Operations Management, Project Management, Resource Management, and/or Product Development. PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification and/or Masters Degree are strongly desired.
