This position is located in Michigan.
This position within R&D is responsible for the design, development, verification and validation of the sophisticated software for the Left Ventricle Assist System consisting of an implantable heart pump, which houses a magnetically levitated impeller. Responsibilities include maintenance of the current system’s software and software development of next generation system, including designing, debugging, implementing embedded and graphical user interface software, designing unit/integration test procedures for embedded real-time software, graphical user interface application, test applications and commercial off-the-shelf software (COTSS) in compliance with FDA guidance, testing and implementing necessary improvements.
Qualified candidates must possess a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering/Electrical Engineering coupled with experience in a regulated industry with hands on debugging, implementing and testing skills in embedded real-time development environments; Masters Degree in Computer Engineering/Electrical Engineering preferred. Active implantable medical device development experience with knowledge of regulatory requirements is strongly preferred.
