Reviews, updates, and compiles engineering definition of structural components and assemblies based on records from the prototype build project. Develops standardized design criteria and templates using model based definition practices. Establishes manufacturing tolerances for production of structural components using GD&T. Establishes Product Lifecycle Management architecture using PLM and ERP software. Assists in creating engineering BOM based on prototype design and build configuration. Helps establish the engineering definition review, approval, and release process. Assists in the setup of a configuration management process utilizing PLM software. Supports review of manufacturing plans and procedures to ensure compliance with design
requirements. Supports the creation of structural test plans which will be used to verify manufacturing
processes meet design intent and requirements (according to part 25 FAA requirements). Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, with a concentration in a relevant
Engineering discipline. Experience in aircraft composite fabrication and assembly processes. CAD experience - Catia V5 mandatory and Solidworks preferred. Experience with Model Based Definition. Strong GD&T skills through experience and formal training. Experience with Product Lifecycle Management tools (PLM software) and configuration management.
