Seeking a qualified aircraft structural engineer with experience in composite aircraft design and production manufacturing. The first task of this role will be to help update prototype design information developed by Scaled Composites and compile designs into a standardized format by
reviewing prototype build notes and redlines. The second task will be to define manufacturing tolerances for individual parts and assemblies which will be used as acceptance criteria for suppliers and in-house production operations. Third, engineers in this position will be expected to review planned manufacturing procedures and processes to ensure compliance with design specifications and intentions.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, with a concentration in a relevant Engineering discipline. Experience in aircraft composite fabrication and assembly processes. CAD experience - Catia V5 mandatory and Solidworks preferred. Experience with Model Based Definition. Strong GD&T skills through experience and formal training. Experience with Product Lifecycle Management tools (PLM software) and configuration
management.
