This position is located in Ohio.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies and processes that lead to the procurement of components, assemblies and finished goods required to support the Master Production Schedule and Operating Plan
  • Utilize MRP software and visual Kan Ban system for the planning and overall management of all SKU’s
  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels based on sales volumes and forecasts, customer needs and management directives
  • Manage long term relationships and contracts with suppliers. Establish follow-up systems and processes for managing day to day activities with suppliers
  • Monitor suppliers’ performance levels (including quality, on-time delivery and price) and make appropriate changes to insure the highest level of performance
  • Keep abreast of market and supplier conditions, special pricing, delivery and lead-time trends, available substitutions and new products. Maintain a global perspective, seeking out the best worldwide suppliers
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships engineering partners and internal customers
  • Track and reduce excess and obsolete inventory in accordance with the Company’s annual goals
  • Provide sourcing support for new product development and manage the Engineering Change Notice (ECN) process for active and new purchase orders
Requirements: The successful candidate must possess a BS/BA in Business Administration with 5 years purchasing experience in manufacturing/assembly environment. This individual will be a Self Starter with the ability to identify the need to change and make the change happen and have a track record of leading and delivering sustainable, measurable improvements and cost reduction initiatives. Experience working with MRP system and KANBAN systems, reviewing action messages, and maintaining Material Master parameters are desired. Knowledge of Navision or JDE is a plus and APICS certification encouraged, but not required.
