This position is located in Southeast Michigan.

Responsibilities:

  • Active participation in internal, external meeting and technical reviews for all related PPT products (electrical and mechanical water, oil and vacuum pumps).
  • Responsible for interpretation of customer specifications and requirements.
  • Support of advanced engineering team at various customers for the introduction of new electrical pumps in different applications.
  • Lead, direct, monitor, perform program design and testing; resolve engineering issues for customer products and programs.
  • Handling of customer's program issues, support & concerns.
  • Good mechanical design aptitude, problem solving and root cause analysis abilities.
  • Must be willing to work overtime as needed to meet the objectives of both the customer and the parent company.
  • Ability to read drawings, perform stack-up studies, understand and implement GD & T.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies or members of the business community.
Requirements:
  • BSME or equivalent with 5-7 years related experience (at least 3-5 of which are in the automotive industry.
  • Experience in Electro-Mechanical Assemblies for vehicle sub-systems. Powertrain, cooling and lubrication components with an automotive supplier would be ideal.
  • Mechanical Oil, Water and Vacuum pumps experience would be desired.
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office package.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • UniGraphics (18.04 respectively NX 1.02), IDEAS, CATIA V5 knowledge preferred, but not required.
  • German languages a plus, other languages preferred but not mandatory.
  • Experience in design, devleopment and/or manufacturing of mechanical components, specifically, with electrical pumps.
