This position is located in Southeast Michigan.

POSITION FOCUS:

  • Occupant safety related new product development based on global market and regulatory trends
  • Current global safety regulation analysis and interpretation
  • Study of proposed regulatory changes and brainstorming new product solutions
POSITION SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:
  • Background in automotive seating development & manufacturing
  • Experience with interpreting global safety regulatory requirements
  • Experience in product development with emphasis on mechanics and energy management
  • Knowledge of dynamic testing and occupant kinematics
  • Basic understanding of biomechanics
JOB SPECIFIC SKILLS:
  • Mechanical aptitude for solving & optimizing for strength & packaging challenges
  • Understanding of energy management basics applied to occupant interface(seat/head restraint)
  • Knowledge of global (FMVSS, ECE) safety regulation requirements & test procedures
  • Basic knowledge of crash safety & biomechanics
  • Knowledge of plastic part design & manufacturing
  • Computer Aided Design (CAD) skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Basic GD&T knowledge
  • Ability to present design characteristics & benefits to customers & management
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
Must have an Engineering Degree.
