This position is located in Southeast Michigan.
POSITION FOCUS:
- Occupant safety related new product development based on global market and regulatory trends
- Current global safety regulation analysis and interpretation
- Study of proposed regulatory changes and brainstorming new product solutions
- Background in automotive seating development & manufacturing
- Experience with interpreting global safety regulatory requirements
- Experience in product development with emphasis on mechanics and energy management
- Knowledge of dynamic testing and occupant kinematics
- Basic understanding of biomechanics
- Mechanical aptitude for solving & optimizing for strength & packaging challenges
- Understanding of energy management basics applied to occupant interface(seat/head restraint)
- Knowledge of global (FMVSS, ECE) safety regulation requirements & test procedures
- Basic knowledge of crash safety & biomechanics
- Knowledge of plastic part design & manufacturing
- Computer Aided Design (CAD) skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Basic GD&T knowledge
- Ability to present design characteristics & benefits to customers & management
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
