This position is located in Tennessee.

Summary

Responsible for the design, selection, specification, and optimization of the required equipment, tooling, processes, and operations; and the determination of other technical matters required to make a given product according to the desired volume, timetable, cost, quality level, and other specifications.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop manufacturing process for new and existing parts by determining equipment, tooling and accessories for the most cost efficient and effective application methods.
  • Document manufacturing processes.
  • Coordinates manufacturing activities and capabilities to ensure that the production and quality of parts meet specification.
  • Gathers data for and creates reports on production, maintenance, operations, tooling, and safety issues relating to downtime and operational delays.
  • Inspect machines and equipment to ensure operational performance and optimum utilization.
  • Develop and implement work cells and focused assembly lines.
  • Maintain the plant layout.
  • Improve equipment and tooling design to reduce setup times, increase output, and reduce cost.
  • Prepare capital request.
  • Communicate and collaborate with production members, maintenance, die shop, engineering, and outside suppliers.
  • Develop and revise standard operational and working practices and observes workers to insure compliance with standards.
  • Design and develop fixtures.
Education/Experience/Training A bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering from a four year accredited college or university. 2-3 Years of working experience in the related field.
