This position is located in Indiana.
As a Mechanical Design Engineer for our client in Indiana, you will be responsible for concept development, engineering analysis, design, component specification, detailing, and checking for welding machinery, special tooling and ancillary equipment. Because of your machine tool design background and demonstrated experience working with electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical design documents, you will have no problem interpreting design requirements from customer specifications, and then preparing concept, design, and detail drawings using 3D CAD software. You'll leverage your understanding of the manufacturing environment, including machining processes, workflow, assembly processes, cycle time and quality and delivery expectations to continuously improve the engineering processes. Because you have a good working knowledge of designing and specifying components for high-force machines and handling systems you will have no problem preparing detailed lists of parts, detail drawings, and bills of materials required to complete assigned projects. Your demonstrated experience incorporating manufacturing and cost effectiveness into new designs will help you to develop strategies and processes to ensure on-time delivery of equipment, reduce costs and improve performance of our automated equipment.
