This position is located in Indiana.
As our Human Resources Generalist, your first mission will be to acclimate yourself to our recruiting processes and assimilate our best practices. Successful recruiters in our environment have an aptitude for picking up the jargon and acronyms behind many engineering positions (software, mechanical, electrical), so you can hold meaningful conversations with prospective candidates and effectively qualify them. We'll look to you to establish solid relationships with hiring managers and other stakeholders in the recruitment process, and to keep your pipeline filled as you make hires for dozens of complex positions throughout the year. The high volume of outbound contact in this position will test your overall written and verbal communication skills. Almost every task will involve some form of writing ~ from job descriptions to pitch letters to status reports ~ and your work is expected to be grammatically correct, accurate and business professional. In terms of verbal communications, you'll interface with highly educated individuals in engineering and senior management roles as well as blue collar workers schooled on the production floor. Establishing a comfort level with each group (and with each individual!) will be one of the most challenging, and, at the same time, most rewarding aspects of your job. Technically savvy, you will rank/review candidates and schedule interviews in our partner's sophisticated hiring platform, and you'll also be very hands-on with MS Office, where an extensive amount of our HR-related information is housed. Highly organized, you'll have no problems compiling and maintaining complete and accurate records, and ensuring that sensitive information is kept confidential. Over the course of your duties, you'll support the training function. You may be involved in presenting information from existing curricula, and you'll track the training process to ensure that those stakeholders who are required to participate in specific training or orientation have done so. For someone who likes their work varied and interesting, with no two days alike, this is an ideal opportunity to accelerate your career growth within the human resources function.
